Dorothy Allison graduated from Eckerd College in 1971 and went on to become one of the most celebrated writers of her generation.  Her books include Bastard Out of Carolina (A finalist for the Natonal Book Award), Cavedweller, Skin: Talkling about Sex, Class & Literature, The Women Who Hate me (poetry), and Two or Three Things I know for Sure (performance). She has been an editor at many feminist and gay and lesbian publications and a columnist for a range of independent journals.
